High temperature incineration

For certain categories of waste including Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS) and confidential materials, only the highest levels of secure destruction are appropriate in order to satisfy both commercial and legislative requirements. In these cases, High Temperature Incineration is frequently the most cost-effective solution.

The safest option

A proven solution for the safe disposal of hazardous organic chemicals and those more intractable materials that are unsuitable for treatment by other technologies, High Temperature Incineration is widely regarded as the best practical environmental option (BPEO) for chemical and confidential wastes.

Secure disposal assured

The process, which involves heating to temperatures in excess of 1100°C, delivers a destruction efficiency of 99.99% and is ideally suited to the secure disposal of hazardous by-products, redundant or obsolete products, laboratory waste and agents, contaminated electrical equipment and contaminated soils.

Meeting environmental standards

The exceptionally high efficiency of this process is matched by outstanding performance in the environmental arena. For your further assurance, we use the latest technology at every stage in order to achieve legislative conformity.

In the United States, we participated in the collection of pesticides organized jointly by Jefferson County and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. More than 900 metric tons of products were collected, 98% of which was treated in our incineration plants in Sauget (Illinois) and Port Arthur (Texas).

In France, the Gironde Prefecture requisitioned Veolia Environmental Services units to
treat waste from the Prestige oil spill. It was incinerated in a furnace operating at 1,000°C.
