Solidification/stabilization
Solidification/stabilization is a pre-treatment technique before landfill for the waste which is banned to landfill. It has been used for 30 years in waste management.
Solidification/stabilization technique means changed the physical character of the waste by solidification/stabilization reagent (i.e. cement, coal powder, lime and etc.), avoiding high-concentration hazardous leachate which generates during landfill; one side protects environment, and the other side reduces the load of waste water treatment system. Solidification/stabilization and Safe Landfill Flow
TCLP: Sampling the typical waste, and then processing the TCLP in the Lab. The judgment if the waste could be landfilled into the landfill site
In China, according to Hazardous waste safe landfill pollution control standard (GB 18598-2001), if the concentration of any hazardous ingredient of the leachate, following GB5086 and GB/T 15555.1-11, exceeds the control limit which is allowed to enter the landfill site, the waste must be treated with solidification/stabilization. When the concentration of the hazardous ingredient is accordance with the following list, the waste could be allowed to enter the site and landfilled.
Solidification formula test in Lab
There is Solidification/stabilization equipment in the solidification workshop. The waste would be treated for Solidification/stabilization according to solidification data. Sample the waste after solidification treatment for TCLP. If the result is accordance with the requirements, the waste could enter the landfill area; otherwise processes solidification treatment again until eligibility.
