Prestigious sites, peaks in visitor numbers, specific demands… Veolia Environmental Services is always on hand to provide a high-quality service that meets each municipality's specific needs. In Singapore, for example, our teams work seven days a week to keep the city and its 42km of beaches clean, adapting their operations according to the season, maritime traffic volumes and visitor numbers. Thanks to the onboard GPS system, Singapore's National Environment Agency is able to monitor the vehicles' progress in real time. In Westminster, meanwhile, 453 agents work around the clock to maintain the cleanliness of this extremely busy site, which attracts one million visitors each day.
Stepping-up our services to cope with major events
We can also bring in additional resources and services to handle events that attract large crowds, such as the Radio One Roadshow and the Clacton Air Show in Great Britain, the Whitsun Feria in Nîmes or the week-long Armada in Rouen. For the Feria in Nîmes, which attracts 1 million tourists, we increase our resources by 30 to 50% and have developed an on-demand green waste and glass collection service for use during the event.
