Our sorting centers are specially designed to optimize operating costs and ensure that materials are sold at competitive prices. Each center is equipped with state-of-the-art technical and mechanical innovations. The centre at Alton in Hampshire is one of the most sophisticated facilities in Europe: 85,000 tons of waste is processed each year with the help of an optic sorter and magnetic separators. It is a similar story at the sorting centre in Sheffield, Great Britain, where waste collected at the curbside is sorted by size and color with the help of the very latest computing systems. Other key examples include the sorting centers at Thaon-les-Vosges, Rillieux-la-Pape and Nanterre in France, and the Mackay center in Australia.
In our material recovery facility in South Korea, we produce raw material by processing waste plastic scraps. Scrap plastics are recovered as manufactured plastic pellets through the process of mixing, extruding and forming. The plastic pellets are offered to plastic manufacturers as a raw material.
